About Me

Studying a degree in Computer Science at the University of Hertfordshire, I am a highly motivated and hardworking individual. I work well both as part of a team and independently. Always being punctual enables me to meet deadlines effectively. From a young age my passion for computers has lead me to keep well informed of industry trends and open minded to learning about new technology. Recently working within the industry has not only expanded my knowledge but confirmed that the industry of computing is the one I wish to pursue a career in. With a strong initiative and excellent problem solving skills I am able to make decisions and carry out tasks unaided.

IT Technician

St Joseph's College
June 2016 - September 2016 & May 2017 - September 2017 (Full Time Summer Job)

I worked at St Joseph's College during two summer periods as an IT Technician. I was responsible for:

  • Day-to-Day Management of the entire School Network.
  • Performing regular maintenance of all systems (Workstations, Printers, etc.).
  • Setting up and managing network accounts via Active Directory.
  • Prioritizing tasks within a busy environment.
  • Configuring permissions for a safe working environment for students with the use of group policy.
  • Re-building machines as required via SCCM.
  • Cable management including networking.
  • Designing and creating the deployable task sequence for Windows 10 for the entire school network.

Crew Member

Mc Donalds
December 2016 - May 2017 (Part Time)

Responsibilities include:

  • Production of all grilled meat and chicken products.
  • Taking delivery of stock and storing in accordance with company procedure
  • Working as part of a team in a fast paced working environment.

I worked for Uplink Communications, a small start up company, setting up and managing the server infrastructure for clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-Day management of hosted websites for customers.
  • Providing support to customers with issues or problems they may have with their website hosting.
  • Creating and deploying website hosting for customers.

Voluntary Community Operations

Mozilla
June 2015 - June 2016

Whilst volunteering for Mozilla Community, I was part of the Community Operations team which managed and set up server and website hosting for various communities inside Mozilla. Responsibilities include:

  • Volunteered as a community member of Mozilla
  • Working as part of a team that specializes in providing web hosting for the different communities within the Mozilla Corporation called Community Operations.
  • Learning about infrastructures and security for Linux based servers.
  • Involved in a project within Mozilla called Youth Mozilla, which encouraged young people to get involved with Mozilla, learning more about computing.
